Portion of Victorian Avenue in Sparks to Close for Utility Work

Posted: Updated:

The Regional Transportation Commission is closing eastbound Victorian Avenue between Kietzke Lane and Prater Way starting Wednesday to install new, wider sidewalks, and to do pavement reconstruction and utility work.

Once the eastbound side of the roadway is reopened, then the westbound side will close starting in mid-October and lasting through October.

Additionally, the eastbound on-ramp and westbound off-ramp for I-80 at 4th Street will be closed on June 26 and June 27 from 8 pm to 6 am each day.

Drivers are encouraged to use Wells Avenue or Rock Boulevard to access I-80.

This closure is necessary for median work and to replace a traffic signal with a new upgraded model that will improve traffic flow and provide priority for buses.

To sign up for weekly updates on the 4th Street/Prater Way Bus RAPID Transit Project, go to: http://4thprater.com or  text “4prater” to the number: 797979.
