Ribbon Cutting at Veteran’s Preference Property in Reno

Posted: Updated:

Northern Nevada Community Housing (NNCH) opens affordable housing complex, Hillside Meadows in Reno.

On Thursday, NNCH held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of this community.

Hillside Meadows offers a Veterans Preference, that supplies quality affordable living for our community’s Veteran population with all units featuring rents at 40% AMI (annual median income) qualifying standards as set by HUD.  Additionally, Hillside Meadows will partner with two locally based non-profit organizations to provide wrap-around case management and supportive services for families and individuals living with special needs.

This 2-story community is located one block south of Virginia Lake Park at 2757 Beck Street and includes 28 two-bedroom units and 16 one-bedroom units.

Matthew Fleming, the Executive Director for NNHC said, "It takes so much hard work to achieve a project like this but the reward is so worth it when you see a veteran walk into a place that the couldn't have afforded any other place at any other time, and know they have a place to call home."
