BODYpow Live

It is a workout for your muscles and your mind. "It's an overall body-weight conditioning workout, where we use no equipment, just our own body weight and mind-muscle connection to build muscle, strength and flexibility,” explains BODYpow Founder, Jackie Peacock. For 30 seconds at a time - you push it! That could mean constantly contracting a muscle group or getting breathless; the "pow" in BODYpow stands for personally-optimized workout - so you choose how hard you want to work. The hard-hitting anaerobic section lasts anywhere from 30 to 36 minutes, followed by some isometric work at the end. It is a full-body workout in an hour which is why classes are always packed. How then is Jackie able to expand even more? It’s all thanks to a camera she sets up before class. "We call it BODYpow Live because there's no editing,” she shows us. “It's like you're stepping right into a class." Jackie records every class and uploads it to www.BODYpow.com/live within a half-hour after teaching.

Full-time working mom, Gina Reed loves the convenience. "Just having the consistency of it being available 24/7 is huge because I want to work out three to four days a week and sometimes I can't get to class." So now, Jackie can come to her - on her cell phone, tablet or TV. You have a handful of classes from which to choose and they are constantly rotating; so unlike workout videos – your class will always be fresh.

Although it only just officially launched, BODYpow Live is catching on. Folks have taken BODYpow Live with them on vacation. Twin sisters sweat together even when they are hundreds of miles apart. Parents are logging on to get in a quick workout while their kids are at sports practice. Jackie even coaches her 70-year-old Mom in Florida. "It's also a good thing to use if you don't feel comfortable coming to class yet and you just want to test it out." BODYpow Live costs $30 a month.

Jackie and her team offer three weekly classes in Reno at ZMA Martial Arts on Longley Lane and three more classes in Incline Village. For a schedule, log on to www.BODYpow.com.
