Former Wolf Pack Baseball Players Head to All Star Game

Former Nevada baseball players TJ Friedl and Miles Mastrobuoni were named to the 2017 Midwest League Eastern All-Star Team. The game is scheduled for June 20 at Dow Diamond in Midland, Mich. and will be streamed live on MiLB.TV.

In 56 games played this season, Friedl has a .288 batting average with 24 RBI and five home runs for the Dayton Dragons, the Class A organization for the Cincinatti Reds. During the Wolf Pack’s 2016 season, Friedl posted a .401 batting average, the eighth highest in Nevada history and 11th in the nation that year. As a sophomore he had 89 hits and 35 RBI and was named first-team All-Mountain West. Friedl helped lead the Wolf Pack to a second place finish in the MW and its first MW tournament finals appearance in program history.

A member of the Bowling Green Hot Rods, the Class A team for the Tampa Bay Rays, Mastrobuoni currently holds a batting average of .292 in 41 games played so far this season. The former Nevada infielder has 16 RBI and has posted a .991 fielding percentage when playing second base this year. As a member of the Wolf Pack, Mastrobuoni played with Friedl in 2016 where he batted .364 with 40 RBI on 83 hits. The second baseman had a .986 fielding percentage, helping the Pack set the team record for best in a season at .977.
