Reno 1868 FC Release

5/24/2017

Reno 1868 FC continued its hot streak on Wednesday capturing a 4-0 win against Tulsa Roughnecks FC.

The club captured its fourth-straight overall win and gained another three points in the USL standings inching closer to a playoff spot.

Reno captain and defender Jimmy Ockford began Reno’s barrage of goals with a header in the 42nd minute off an assist by forward Chris Wehan to put Reno up 1-0.

But the goal-scoring in front of a crowd of 4,418 at Greater Nevada Field did not stop there.

Forward and USL Player of the Week Dane Kelly converted off of a blocked penalty shot making it seven goals in the past three matches for the USL’s all-time leading goal scorer.

Midfielder Lindo Mfecka made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute off of a beautiful left-footed shot.

Four minutes later, forward Antoine Hoppenot converted another chance for Reno after Wehan’s second assist of the match to put Reno up 4-0.

Reno has now notched nine league points during the four-match win streak.

The club has a quick turnaround ahead of Saturday’s away match at Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (5 p.m. PT).
