NDOT Announces Overnight Lane Closures on I-80 West of Reno This Week

Posted: Updated:

From the Nevada Department of Transportation:

Overnight lane closures will be in place Monday, April 24 through Friday, April 28 on Interstate 80 west of Reno as the Nevada Department of Transportation continues pothole and roadside erosion repairs.

Monday evening-Wednesday morning (nightly 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.):  Segments of I-80 will be reduced to one lane in the westbound direction nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. between Wells Avenue and the Gold Ranch area. The lane closures will take place between Wells Avenue and Robb Drive Monday evening, and progress westward in subsequent evenings. Intermittent ramp closures will also take place.

Thursday evening-Friday morning:  I-80 will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound direction from 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. between Gold Ranch and Mogul.

The interstate has experienced extensive potholing through the heavy winter weather. This year, NDOT and contractor Q&D Construction has used approximately 2,500 tons of asphalt to fill potholes. This week, crews are returning to repair smaller potholes which have developed following recent storms, as well as to continue repairs to roadside erosion. The work will be weather dependent.
