The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says a Washoe Valley man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for failing to stop at a fatal hit-&-run crash in Reno this past January.

Prosecutors say 26-year-old Joseph Vilardi pleaded guilty in August to one count of failure to stop at the scene of a crash involving death.

Authorities say he hit 32-year-old Jason Leach while he was crossing Pueblo Street near Holcomb Avenue at approximately midnight on January 3rd. Leach died at the scene.

The DA's Office says he will be eligible for parole after serving six years in prison.
