Donate a Wreath, Honor Veterans for Wreaths Across America

Posted: Updated:

The Northern Nevada Veteran's Coalition (NNVC) is accepting donations for wreaths as well as volunteers to help place them on veteran's graves at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Center in Fernley on December 17th.

Wreaths Across America is a national project that NNVC became involved with in 2007. The goal is to someday place a wreath for every veteran interned in the cemetery.

NNVC tells us that there are currently over 8,000 veterans interned at the cemetery. Last year over 6,000 wreaths were placed on graves.

The 9 a.m. service will happen simultaneously with 1,000 other services throughout the United States.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony and help place the fresh wreaths on veteran’s graves.

You can order a wreath by going to NNVC.org. They are $15 each, and for every wreath purchased, the NNVC receives one additional wreath – free of charge.

You can also go to wreathsacrossamerica.org for more information.
