Sacramento Kings to Host Celebration Day in Reno, Wednesday

The Sacramento Kings will join the Bighorns for a Celebration Day on Wednesday, Nov. 2 to celebrate their new majority ownership of the Reno Bighorns. The day will feature Kings talent in order to give fans in Reno an opportunity to connect directly with the Sacramento organization.

The Celebration Day will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a “Kings and Coffee” event hosted in the parking lot of PF Chang’s (5180 Kietzke Ln, Reno, 89511). Fans will have the opportunity to drive-thru and receive coffee, bagels and Kings “Swag Bags” courtesy of the franchise. Fans will also have the chance to meet Kings Dancers and Kings Mascot, Slamson.

Following Kings and Coffee, Kings Dancers, Kings Talent and Slamson will then make a stop for two school rallies. The first will be held at Mt. Rose Elementary (915 Lander St, Reno, 89509) from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. while the second rally will take place at Rollan Melton Elementary (6575 Archimedes Ln, Reno 89523) from 10:45-11:45 a.m.

During the third portion of the day, the Kings Dancers and mascot will be delivering lunches and “Swag Bags” to select local businesses.

To kick-off the afternoon, a private Select-a-Seat Happy Hour event for Bighorns Season Ticket Members will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Reno Events Center (400 N. Center St. Reno 89501) before opening up to the public at 4:00. The event will conclude at 5:30. Fans will have the opportunity to learn about the Kings involvement in Reno, including plans for select game entertainment takeovers this season, meet Bighorns Head Coach Darrick Martin, Kings Dancers and Slamson. The community is invited to enjoy complimentary food and beverage from local food trucks as well as check out the newly released seat locations.

The final event of the day will be by invite only business mixer at Whitney Peak Hotel with a state-of-the business address by Kings Executives, and an opportunity to meet Coach Martin, Kings Dancers and mascot from 6-8 p.m. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Bighorns new premium membership, Club 135. This membership is designed to bring an exclusive group of 135 people the best of everything from the 135 miles between Reno and Sacramento.

The Reno community is encouraged to wear purple on Wednesday, Nov. 2 and post it on social media with the hashtag “#RenoBighorns”.
