From the Food Bank of Northern Nevada:
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada has announced the third annual all ages volunteer event, Baggin’ for Apples, to be held at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada warehouse on Thursday, October 27, 2015 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Baggin’ for Apples is an open to the public volunteer event that is available for children of all ages to attend with their parents. General volunteer sessions at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada are open to children ten years and older, and this will be an opportunity for younger children to have fun volunteering at a Halloween themed event.
Families will enjoy food, treats, tours, face painting, games, a photo booth, and the volunteering task of putting apples in bags to be distributed to the hungry in our community. Participants are encouraged to dress in costume as long as their costume can include closed toe shoes for the volunteer task. Admission to the event is free and advance online registration is required at fbnn.org or by clicking here. Children must be accompanied by an adult and non-perishable food donations are also being accepted at the event.
“This is the third year of this event, and families always love it, “said Angie Medina, volunteer coordinator for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. “People want to teach their children that volunteering can be fun and rewarding, and this event is perfect for that.”
