Fire crews were on scene of a house fire that occurred early Thursday afternoon on Ambassador Drive in northwest Reno.

Reno Fire Department says that at approximately 1:15 on Thursday, they received a call for a bedroom fire and when they arrived on scene, there was heavy smoke coming from the structure.

Officials say that less than 30 minutes later, they had the fire knocked down.

REMSA say they treated two residents on scene for possible inhalation injuries, but they declined to be transported and no other injuries were reported. They say the two residents along with four dogs and two cats all got out safely.

Red Cross says they will be assisting the family.

There's no immediate word on a cause.

The Washoe County School District is currently on a fall break, so no students are affected at Westergard Elementary School, which is directly across the street from the fire.
