Thrive Market Opens New Distribution Center, Brings 400 New Jobs to Reno Area

Posted: Updated:

On Wednesday, EDAWN announced the newest member into Storey County and the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center. Thrive Market, which is a membership based e-commerce company, recently opened the doors to their west coast distribution center in Northern Nevada.

Thrive market's mission is to make a healthy lifestyle affordable and easy. The company will be investing 3.5 million dollars into their operations to provide healthy food and products throughout the west coast.

Co-Founder Nick Green knows Thrive Market isn't the first e-commerce facility to come into Storey County, but he also says they certainly aren't the last.

"Business climate is going to continue to attract great e-commerce businesses and our 400 jobs are going to have a real impact," says Green.

Governor Brian Sandoval recognized a job growth trend in Northern Nevada, saying it doesn't end with the addition of Thrive Market.   Five a half years ago the governor set a goal to bring 50,000 new jobs within the state. He says thanks to an asset like the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, Nevada has actually seen the addition of 165,000 new jobs.

“We have Amazon, we have Jet.com, and now Thrive Market and these are all discovering Northern Nevada is the perfect place where you can distribute and get goods to people within two days," says Sandoval.
