Police: Driver Arrested on DUI Charges After Fatal Crash in East Reno

Police have arrested a Sparks man in connection with a fatal crash that occurred that earlier this month near Mill Street and Rock Blvd. in east Reno.

Police say on August 13th, 36-year-old Ricardo Alonso Fuentes was driving north on Rock when his vehicle ran a red light and struck another vehicle headed eastbound on Mill. 

30-year-old Saul Garcia and 29-year-old Janet Gonzalez-Contreras, both of Sparks, died at the scene.

Fuentes was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and later booked into the Washoe County Jail on two counts of DUI causing death.
