The Reno Aces (@Aces), in conjunction with the Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks), announced the contract of right-handed pitcher Braden Shipley (@shipley25) has been purchased by the D-backs.  

In 19 starts with the Aces, Shipley went 8-5 with a 3.70 ERA (49 ER/119.1 IP) and 77 strikeouts. On the Pacific Coast League leaderboard, the former Nevada Wolf Pack star ranks among the circuit’s best in innings pitched (1st), fewest walks per 9.0 innings (4th, 1.66), ERA (8th) and wins (T-8th).

Ranked as Arizona’s No. 1 prospect by MLB.com and Baseball America, Shipley, 24, will make his Major League debut against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park today. 2016 marks Shipley’s first season with the Aces after being selected by the D-backs in the first round (15th overall) of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft. He went 24-27 with a 3.79 ERA (186 ER/441.2 IP) and 362 strikeouts in 81 games (80 starts) since making his professional debut with Short-Season A Hillsboro on July 2, 2013. A PCL All-Star this season, Shipley participated in the 2014 MLB All-Star Futures Game at Target Field in Minneapolis.

In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Silvino Bracho was optioned from Arizona to Reno.
