The Washoe County Health District says it is now investigating 21 confirmed and probable cases of E. coli.

Health District Spokesman Phil Ulibarri says 18 of the 21 cases seem to be somehow related to the Twisted Fork Restaurant in south Reno. Late last week, the restaurant’s General Manager Joe Clements said the Twisted Fork would remain voluntarily closed until an investigation is complete.

There was no immediate information on the remaining three reported cases.

Ulibarri says the health district was originally notified of eight cases of E. coli on Wednesday, November 4th.

Health officials say the cases are not related to the current cases being investigated in El Dorado County at High Hill Ranch, or Chipotle restaurants.
