From Catholic Charities:
Catholic Charities & the St. Vincent’s Programs is asking community members for donations of pre-filled Christmas stockings for children ages 0 to 17. We will distribute the stockings at our 11th annual “Operation: Stocking Stuffer” holiday party on Friday, December 18th. The stockings will go to about 800 local children in need. This year, we also plan to supply our rural food pantries with stockings for children in outlying communities. Last year, we gave out more than 1,300 Christmas stockings. Many of the children we serve are either homeless, living in low income housing complexes, or residing temporarily in local motels or emergency shelters.
We are asking for pre-filled Christmas stockings that include toys, treats, etc. for the children served by the St. Vincent’s Programs. We will be distributing stockings to the following age groups: 0-2, 3-5, 6-9, 10-12 and 13-17. We ask that people please label the stocking with intended age and gender.
Stockings can be dropped off at our St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop at 500 East Fourth Street (corner of Valley & 4th) in Reno, Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For information about other drop-off locations, visit our website: http://ccsnn.org/donation-dropoff-locations.html. We will also accept toys, candy, and cash donations to use toward filling empty stockings. Please do not wrap the items placed inside the stockings. No perishable food please. For more information about the Operation: Stocking Stuffer event, or to donate, please contact Auburn Harrison at (775)322-7073 ext. 235 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
