Despite three players with double-digit kills, the Nevada Wolf Pack (9-14, 4-7) fell in a competitive three sets to the Wyoming Cowgirls (17-6, 7-4) Thursday night.

Seniors Madison Morell (11) and Sam Willoughby (10) and sophomore Madison Foley (10) all logged double-digit kills in the match. Foley also had seven digs on the night. The match featured 30 ties and 12 lead changes.

The Cowgirls and Pack went back and forth in the first set as the teams combined for 13 ties and five lead changes. With a score of 23-19, Morell and Willoughby combined for a pair of kills to bring the score to 23-21 and force a Wyoming timeout. The Cowgirls then scored two points out of the timeout to win the set and go up in the match 1-0.

The second set looked like it would be just as close, but with a 7-6 lead, Wyoming pulled away to go up in the match 2-0, taking the set 25-16.

The Pack and Cowgirls couldn't find separation again in the third set. Back-to-back kills from Willoughby and Morell again gave Nevada a 15-13 lead. The Cowgirls then scored four unanswered points to lead 17-15. Three consecutive Wyoming errors gave Nevada a 20-19 lead, but the Cowgirls came back with five consecutive points and a kill to take the match 3-0.
