St. Vincent's Now Collecting Holiday Food Donations

Posted: Updated:

From Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada:

St. Vincent’s Food Pantry, a program of Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, is now collecting turkeys, hams and non-perishable food donations as part of our annual Feeding Families Food Drive. The following items are needed:

•    Boxed stuffing
•    Instant mashed potatoes
•    Cranberry sauce
•    Canned fruits and vegetables
•    Custard, pudding and desserts
•    Frozen hams and turkeys

The donations will be distributed in mid December to local families who pre-register through St. Vincent’s Food Pantry. In all, these donations will help us provide a special holiday meal for more than 5,000 families in Northern Nevada and more than a dozen rural Counties. The items will allow the families to cook a special holiday meal at home. This food is in addition to the regular food box they receive on a monthly basis.

Donations can be dropped off at St. Vincent’s Food Pantry at 500 East Fourth Street in  downtown Reno Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Businesses and individuals willing to host a food drive can call (775)322-7073 ext. 234 to schedule a barrel delivery and pick up.
