A huge homecoming was held Friday afternoon at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, as the participants from Honor Flight Nevada made their way off the plane.

Honor Flight is a program which allows older veterans to travel, at no cost, to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials built in their honor.

About 30 veterans, mostly World War II veterans, and 20 support staff, such as nurses and doctors went on the trip, which departed from Reno on Tuesday morning.

Since being founded in 2013, more than 600 Nevada Veterans have been able to make the trip.
