It took two Playoff holes as J.J. Henry claimed victory in the Barracuda Championship, backing up his 2012 Reno-Tahoe Open Championship at Montreux.
Henry came into the final round as the leader but a round record score of 22 points in the Modified Stableford Format at Montreux by Kyle Reifers meant Henry was in catch-up mode for the duration of Sunday's 4th round.
Reifers would knock in an Eagle on 18 to finish with 47 points. Henry would show up on the 18th green with 45 points needing just a birdie to tie. He would miss an Eagle putt but put himself in position to easily tap in to force the playoff.
On the first playoff hole Reifers would nail a long Birdie putt, and Henry answered with a short Birdie to send it to second playoff hole.
Henry's approach shot on the second playoff hole would land on the apron. He would pull out the putter and drill the Eagle and force Reifers to do the same.
However Reifers magic ran out as his putt to force a third playoff hole broke just a little to far to the left, handing J.J. Henry his second PGA Tour win at Montreux.
Henry's win automatically qualifies him for the final Major of the year, the PGA Championship to be played August 20th-23rd.
