Northern Nevada HOPES Project Gets Large Investment

Posted: Updated:

U.S. Bank has invested $5.6 million in the construction of Northern Nevada HOPES new Stacie Mathewson Community Wellness Center.

Northern Nevada HOPES says the money is an investment as part of the New Markets Tax Credit Program.

The new facility, being built on 5th Street in downtown Reno, will be Reno's first integrated care facility, where patients will have access to a wide range of medical and wellness services in one location.

The vast majority of patients are low-income or homeless.

It's slated to be finished this December.

Northern Nevada HOPES says it will be kicking off a fundraising campaign next month for the remaining $2.25 million needed to fund the project.

KTVN Channel 2 News originally reported that the U.S. Bank involvement was in the form of a donation, not an investment, and we apologize for that error.
