Dean Rides 3,500 Miles for Rare Disease; Makes Stop in Reno

Posted: Updated:
You've likely heard of Addi and Cassi Hemple. They are local twin girls with a rare disease commonly known as childhood Alzheimer's.

But you may not be aware a dean of the college of Science at the University of Notre Dame is riding his bike across the country to raise money to help find a cure for this disease. This is the fifth time Greg Crawford has done this journey. His goal this year is to raise $1 million. He's almost there. But he came through Reno, on his way to Pebble Beach, California, to specifically meet Addi and Cassi.

"The Hemple family exemplifies the very reason of why we do it. They're out there with a lot of courage and perseverance with two twins with Neiman Pick and we want to find a cure for this disease."For more information about Greg's journey go to roadtodiscovery.nd.edu.
