Someone 2 Know: Andelin Family Farm

Posted: Updated:
Emus in Sparks! Along with donkeys, alpacas and the more familiar sheep pigs, chickens and goats, they all reside at the 100-acre Andelin Family Farm in Spanish Springs.

"Aren't they so cute?  I want to pet one."

Perhaps, you've been out during the fall where their four-acre corn maze is only trumped by fields of pumpkins up for grabs….

Natalie Andelin and her family of hard-working helpers are excited to open up their barn doors once again to the public. "We've had a lot of requests to do a spring event and we decided to go for it this year."

The theme this spring? Baby animal days.

And one of the biggest attractions will feature chicks.

"Baby chicks. We'll have a chick experience in the barn where kids and adults - whoever wants - can hold and pet the baby chicks."

Natalie's chick-holding-experts will be there to help. "Then just sorta put one hand over and pet it. There you go."

And anyone can love on these little ones -- no experience necessary.

"Have you ever held a chick before?”

“Nuh-uh. Ahhh."

"What do you say?  Fank you.”

“You're welcome."

Back out on the farm... the Andelin family has spent hours upon hours getting ready along with their typical chores – feeding, cleaning and caring for the animals and the land.

But at their event, you can leave your mark, too, on their property.

"Kids and families who come to baby animal days actually get to help us plant a field that we're designating as a Food Bank field,” says Andelin.

Which will grow fresh veggies for the less fortunate.

A fun, family-friendly and feel-good event - to celebrate new life, giving back and the beauty of the season.

"Where everybody can just see all the babies on the farm."

Baby Animal Days will be held on Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th from 10am to 6pm.

Admission is $6/person and includes hay ride, cow train ride, fun track, face painting, craft time, barn yard activities and all the fun baby animals.

Andelin Family Farm is owned and operated by Cameron and Natalie Andelin and their five children

Andelin Family Farm is easily found off Pyramid Highway a ½ mile past Lazy 5 Park. Their website is and phone number is 775-530-8032.
