Drivers Suffer Injuries in Accident on Greg Street in Sparks

Posted: Updated:
Sparks Police officers say two drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle accident on Greg Street near Larkin Circle late Tuesday afternoon.

Police say around 4:30 p.m., a green Chrysler mini-van driven by 38-year-old Marcie Pinkerton was heading north on Greg near Larkin when a white Dodge sedan driven by 29-year-old Megan Brayton was making a left turn from Larkin. That's when police say Brayton's vehicle was struck by Pinkerton's van causing major damage to both vehicles.

Sparks fire crews had to cut Brayton from her Dodge.  Both Brayton and Pinkerton were transported to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Brayton was cited for a right-of-way violation.

The accident caused heavy traffic delays for motorists for about 90 minutes while crews cleaned up the accident scene. The roadway was reopened at about 6 p.m.
