Money Watch Q & A: Save Water and Money

Posted: Updated:
Does putting a brick in your toilet really save water? And how much money can you save running only full loads of dishes and laundry? We're going to find out in tonight's Money Watch Q & A.

Andy Gebhardt is the customer services manager for the Truckee Meadows Water Authority.

And as we heard this week, TMWA is asking Northern Nevadans to conserve 10% of your water usage inside and outdoors. For tips to do that call 858-2222 between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. tonight.

TMWA says with the dry weather, it's important to prepare your turf for the summer. They suggest to decrease sprinkler run times by two minutes and run it in four to six minute increments and check your lawn from there. TMWA also says to water three times a day on you assigned watering day and to check your sprinklers to make sure they are functioning correctly.
