Money Watch Q&A: Advanced Premium Tax Credit

Posted: Updated:
More than six-million Americans signed up for health insurance since last November through the Affordable Care Act marketplace.

According to tax experts, approximately 80% of people who qualify for a subsidy take it in the form of an advance premium tax credit, which directly lowers the cost of their monthly health insurance premium payments.

However, the subsidy amount is based on your projected income, so if you end up making more than expected, you could end up owing Uncle Sam this tax season.

To learn more about the advanced premium tax credit, CPA Mike Bosma, of The Bosma Group, will be taking your calls in tonight's Money Watch Q & A segment. Call (775) 858-2222 between 5-6 p.m.

You can also reach Mike during regular business hours at (775) 786-4900.
