Safety Watch Q&A: Sheriff Allen's Goals for Washoe County

Posted: Updated:
Sheriff Chuck Allen is now officially at the helm of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and already has a long list of things to do. But he made time to join us for tonight's Safety Watch Q & A. To speak with him about his plans for the next four years or to share your safety concerns, call 858-2222. Lines are open from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Among his top goals for the next four years, Sheriff Allen says, "We're going to build trust and respect and rapport with the community." He adds, "we're obviously we're going to look at crime stats."

The sheriff says he also wants to be aware of community concerns and plans to launch what he calls a green ribbon panel "comprised of spiritual leaders, community leaders, elected officials, public safety officials and other leaders from the county to meet several times a year, just to discuss issues about Washoe County.”
