Recount Process Shows No Discrepancy in Assembly District 26 Race

Posted: Updated:
From Washoe County:

The Washoe County Registrar's Office has completed the recount that was requested by Lisa Krasner for Assembly District 26.

Washoe County Registrar Luanne Cutler said the recount of seven precincts Krasner asked to have recounted has been completed.

“After a detailed examination of all the votes for the Assembly District 26 race, there was no discrepancy from what we tallied initially on Election Day. Therefore, the recount process will go no further. I thank everyone who took the time to vote in this important election. The narrow margin in this race shows the importance of each and every vote.”

According to statute, the Board of County Commissioners has five business days to canvass the results of the recount. They will do so at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

For more information regarding the recount process and canvassing of the vote, refer to NRS 293.403 and NAC 293.265.

With the area finally seeing some more winter weather this week, REMSA officials are reminding people to be prepared for anything, during the colder temperatures. So far this winter, REMSA has only responded to about five calls regarding hypothermia and frostbite. Fortunately, that number is down from around 19 this same time last year. But, officials say that is no reason to be lax about winter weather preparedness.
