Posted: Updated:
Some residents in Swansboro, California are being allowed to return home after being evacuated due to the King Fire.

To maintain the mandatory evacuation of the Quintette and Volcanoville communities, two road closure points will be established at the intersection of Mosquito Road and Stope Drive and Stope Drive at Dickinson Road.

The King Fire remains 92,960 acres large and is nearly 40% contained after starting on September 13th in El Dorado County. The fire remains under investigation although 37-year-old Wayne Huntsman has pleaded not guilty to arson in connection with the fire.

On Wednesday, California officials announced that the fire has cost more than $53 million to fight.
