Reno Police Arrest Saint Mary's Phlebotomist on Sexual Assault Charge

Reno Police have arrested a Saint Mary's hospital phlebotomist they say sexually assaulted a female patient.

Police say they were called to the emergency room at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center on Wednesday on the report of inappropriate sexual conduct between an employee and a 19-year-old female patient. Upon arrival it was determined that Sex Crimes Detectives would handle the investigation.

Later, police say they arrested 32-year-old Bryan Samson on one count of sexual assault.

In light of the recent news regarding one of our employees, we wish to inform the public that we are cooperating fully with the Reno Police Department and the employee has been suspended.

We are disappointed by this event and deeply apologetic to the victim and family and have already begun working with them to remedy the situation.

Due to privacy concerns and the ongoing investigation, we cannot comment further at this time.
