Sec. of Veterans Affairs Says Reno Director on Leave

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald says Reno's Regional Office Director Ed Russell is on leave.

McDonald is in Reno to address the 69th annual Blind Veterans Association National Convention at the JA Nugget in Sparks.

McDonald says Kathy Malin has been in charge of the Reno office since July 9th.

There's no immediate information as to why Russell is on leave.

    A Portland State University student has been in a coma for a week at Renown's ICU, after a mysterious incident on his way home via Amtrak.  He was found unconscious in Truckee, where he suffered broken bones, a damaged brain stem and severe burns. His family is demanding answers.
