$50,000 Donated for Technology in High School Classrooms

Posted: Updated:
The Assistance League of Reno-Sparks donated a sizable amount of money to Sparks High School to help improve their technology.

They presented a $50,000 check to school officials on Friday afternoon as part of the league's Links to Learning program.

Sparks High School was chosen because it's one of the oldest in the district so it doesn't have the same technological advantages as other schools.

The school got the same donation last year and was able to install new equipment in 13 classrooms.

“It increases student engagement and it also brings in the 21st century engagement and learning... that we're really pushing in our school,” says Kevin Carroll, Sparks High School Principal.

The money comes from mainly grants and from private donations.
