Nevada Humane Society Pet Adoptions Urgently Needed

Posted: Updated:
The Nevada Humane Society says they're seeing a drop in pet adoptions with more dogs coming into the shelter at the same time.

The Humane Society says they have a wide variety of dogs, both young and old, who are in need of homes.

They say they want entire families to be involved in the adoption process.

“Bring the kids so your kids can get involved and get to know that dog and if you have another, dog bring that one to so that way we can know that if you take a dog home it's a right fit,” says Kimberly Wade.

The Humane Society says they also have a particular need for adoptions of barn cats, which mostly live outside and hunt rodents.

All animals available for adoption are already spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

The cost of most adoptions is under $50.

Nevada Humane Society located at 2825 Longley Lane in Reno. The shelter is open Sunday through Friday from 11:00 am until 6:30 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until 6:30 pm. For more information on adopting a pet, please call 775-856-2000, ext. 302.
