All day, Social Media Day, CBQ & O'Cleary's Irish Pub

6pm, United States Air Force Band, ‘Music for a Summer Day,' McKinley Arts and Culture Center

The United States Air Force Band of the West, The Golden West Winds, presents ‘Music for a Summer Day' at McKinley Arts and Culture Center at 6 p.m. Members are all professional Air Force musicians working in support of Air Force and Air Mobility Command official military recruiting and community relations objectives. The free concert is open to the public and is at 925 Riverside Drive in Reno.

7:15am, AIDS Walk/Run, Idlewild Park

Northern Nevada HOPES is hosting the 8th annual AIDS Walk/Run at Idlewild Park. Proceeds will go to lifesaving HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment services in the Reno community. Entry is $25 per person and $5 per dog! The event will feature free HIV testing, a vendor village full of health and wellness booths, food, pet supplies and more.

8am, University of Nevada School of Medicine general clinic

The University of Nevada School of Medicine's Student Outreach Clinic is holding a free general clinic (including women's needs) from 8 a.m. to noon at the Family Medicine Center, located on the UNR campus, just north of Mackay Stadium. Clinics offer physicals for work or school, EKGs, blood pressure monitoring, referrals and selected lab services at discounted fees. A children's clinic is scheduled for August 26th. Spanish translators are available as needed.

9am, e-waste recycling event, South Lake Tahoe Middle School

Electronic Waste Management is holding an e-waste recycling event at South Lake Tahoe Middle School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The event is free for Californians, while non-Californians will have to pay a nominal recycling fee for each CRT (TVs and/or monitors). All other e-waste is free. EWM will also accept power supplies, telephone equipment, scrap metal, wire, and much more. They will not accept household appliances, smoke detectors, furniture or household or car batteries. The middle school is located at 2940 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

9am, REMSA Child Safety Seat Inspection, Nelson Building, Reno

REMSA, in partnership with UNR Early Head Start, will hold a child safety seat inspection checkpoint starting at 9am at 401 West Second Street in Reno.  The event is limited to 30 cars so you'll want to get there early. For more information, call 858-KIDS.

The 18th annual Reno Gay Pride event will be held at Wingfield Park in downtown Reno starting at 11 a.m. The non-profit organization will hold a free kick-off party the night before at Harrah's at 8 p.m. along with a comedy show. Tickets are $20 for the show, but are $5 for day events at Wingfield. Kids are free with an accompanying adult. No pets are allowed.

The Wilbur D. May Arboretum's third annual Party in the Garden will feature live jazz, hors d'oeuvres, desserts, beer and wine from local businesses. The event benefits the May Arboretum Endowment Fund which helps protect, preserve, and support the operations of the Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Tickets start at $50. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Burke Garden, located at 1595 North Sierra Street in north Reno.

The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino will host the annual Wine on the Water event on the Cottage Green beside Hyatt's private beach.
