Police: 3 People Hospitalized After Stolen Vehicle Crash in Downtown Reno

Reno police are investigating an accident that happened when the driver of a stolen vehicle sped away from Washoe County deputies.

The crash happened at the intersection of 1st and Vine Streets, just after 10 am on Monday.
Police say the driver of a black Ford Mustang, that was confirmed stolen ran a stop sign at the intersection and hit a silver Jeep Cherokee while going south on Vine, forcing both vehicles off the roadway and into a building, which was not damaged.
The driver of the Jeep received minor injuries.
Two people in the Mustang were hospitalized, the passenger in critical condition.
Police arrested the driver of the Mustang after he was released from the hospital Monday afternoon. Jerry Ruch is now charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He's being held on $20,000 bail.
