Hit & Run Suspect in Custody After Chase on Highway 395

Nevada Highway Patrol troopers have a woman in custody after a high speed chase following a hit and run in Carson City Tuesday morning.
   
Troopers say they responded to Highway 395 and Eastlake Boulevard in Carson City on a report of a dark green Dodge pickup truck that had rear-ended a grey sedan before taking off. From there, they eventually caught up with a dark green Dodge pickup truck on 395 in south Reno.
   
They were able to pursue it northern past Bordertown where they deployed spike strips and eventually forced it off the road.
   
Officers arrested the driver - identified as 53-year-old Melanie Marnne-Lawson of Reno.
   
She is charged with hit and run from an accident, reckless driving and eluding.
