The Reno Aces used clutch two-out hitting and a pair of three-run innings to beat the Fresno Grizzlies 7-4 in Fresno Friday night.

The win gave Reno its fourth series win of the season over Fresno. The Aces took 12 of 16 games from their division rival this season, marking a new season-high for wins over the Grizzlies.

Like last night, Fresno got on the board first.

In the second inning, Adam Duvall led off with a double for Fresno, and scored on a Chris Dominguez home run down the left field line.

Those would be the only two runs Aces starter Mike Lee would allow though, as he earned the first win of his Triple-A career. Lee went five innings and allowed two runs on five hits while walking two and fanning two.

Reno answered in the fourth inning with a two-out rally. After Dustin Martin and Aaron Cunningham made the first two outs of the frame, four straight hits led to three Aces runs. Mike Freeman drove in two runs with his first of two triples in the game.

The Aces scored another three runs in the sixth inning, and two of them came with two outs. Blake Lalli doubled home Aaron Cunningham for the first run, and Freeman and Argenis Diaz each added an RBI in the frame.

Jess Todd came in to pitch the sixth inning for Reno and quickly worked into trouble. He allowed two runs on four hits before being pulled in favor of Kevin Munson, who got the final out of the frame to strand runners on second and third.

Munson then worked the seventh inning and Will Harris tossed a scoreless eighth to preserve Reno’s lead.

The Aces added an insurance run in the ninth inning. After Freeman doubled to lead off the inning and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt, Jake Lamb hit a single to score him from third in the first at-bat of his Triple-A career.

Jake Barret came in to pitch the ninth and quickly worked a 1-2-3 inning for his seventh save of the season.

Freeman finished the game 3-for-4 with two triples, a double, three RBIs, and two runs scored. It marked the ninth time in franchise history a player hit two triples in game, and the first time since Chris Owings hit two on July 18, 2013 against Las Vegas.

Reno travels to El Paso tomorrow to open a four-game set with the Chihuahuas. The Aces will send RHP Charles Brewer (5-9, 5.92) to the mound, and El Paso will counter with RHP Keyvius Sampson (2-5, 6.47). First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
