RPD Investigating Officer-Involved Hit & Run on I-80

Posted: Updated:
The Reno Police Department is looking for a suspect they say hit a motorcycle officer Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 80 near Center Street, then fled the scene.

The accident happened around 2 p.m. NHP officers say the police officer was in the turn lane on I-80 east to get off at South Virginia Street when he was hit.

Police say the officer was taken to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries, but added that the officer was conscious.

Reno police say a white Dodge pickup involved in the accident has been located, but didn’t have immediate information on a location.

They say the suspect(s) are still on the loose. Police tell us they are questioning a person of interest right now, but say they have not made any arrests.

If you have any information, call Secret Witness at 775-322-4900 or text your tip to 847411.
