Friends and Family Rally to Help Sick Reno Resident

Posted: Updated:

38-year-old Danny Utu was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in May of 2014, and told that his heart was functioning at just 10%.

To save his life, Utu now has to undergo a series of treatments, and could even require a heart transplant. To help save his life, his family and friends organized a fundraiser at Sparky's on Prater Way. For the afternoon of Sunday, July 27th, Sparky's offered drink specials, live music and a silent auction to help raise money to pay for Utu's surgeries and support his wife and children in their time of need.

On top of the fundraiser, a special account with Bank of America has been set up to collect donations for Danny's family. To donate,  you can give to bank account #501006302269, routing #122400724, zip code 89503.

Our KTVN newsroom often hears from concerned parents about the lice policy in area schools. Students are not sent home if they have lice since it is more of a nuisance than a serious health risk. If you child brings home the bugs, there is a new clinic to help treat the infestation. We take you to Lice Clinics of America – Reno.
