It’s a multi-cultural weekend here in Northern Nevada. From country music in Yerington to new age music at UNR, and from the Pride celebration in Wingfield Park to fire dancers in downtown Reno, and the funk of James Brown, it's all in our Things 2 Do list!


Friday 7/ 25


Food Truck Friday:

The food trucks will be gathering in Idlewild Park for Food Truck Friday again tonight. The fun goes from 5 tonight until 9.

Night in the Country in Yerington

This two-day music festival has a long list of country stars taking part and the money goes to help the Boys and Girls Club of Mason Valley.

Rollin' on the River tribute to Bob Seger 5:30-8 pm

If you are a Bob Seger fan, you’ll love Rollin’ on the River tonight! It features a Bob Seger Tribute band. The concert, sponsored by the Reno News and Review starts at 5:30 and goes until 8:30 tonight.

Movies in the Park: Annie 9 p.m.

After Rollin' on the River, the Artown Series Movies in the Park continues. Tonight’s film is Annie and is set to start at sundown…about 9 p.m.

Saturday 7/26

Scheel’s Kids Triathalon at the Sparks Marina, 10 a.m.

This is a chance for kids between the ages of 10 and 14 to try out a triathalon. They can see how they are run and what’s involved in more of a training than a competitive atmosphere. It’s all at the Sparks Marina and it starts at 10 a.m.

Mansions on the Bluff Walking Tour

If you have always wanted to see the mansions along the bluff in Reno this is your chance. The Historic Reno Preservation Society is sponsoring it and members are free. Meet at the McCarran House at 401 Court Street at 9 a.m.


LGBT Pride, 10am, Wingfield Park

It’s a celebration of diversity at Wingfield Park. The local LGBT community will be putting that colorful celebration on from 10am until 4pm on Saturday.

Compression Art and Fire, 5pm, Reno Plaza

If you have been to Burning man you have seen them. Now’s your chance to see them in Reno. The Fire Dancers from Compression will be at the Reno Plaza from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m.

The Funk of James Brown, Wingfield Park, 7:30-9:30

I feel good! And you will too if you stop by Wingfield Park tonight at 7:30 for a whole lot of James Brown.

Swan Lake at Nightingale Hall, 7:30-9:30

This special performance of Swan Lake puts a new spin on that old classic. Curtain goes up at 7:30 and admission starts at $15.

Greater Reno Stamp and Cover Show, National Bowling Stadium


Ancient Future performing at Sierra Nevada Guitar Festival at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Incline Village

Bonanza Casino Pre- Hot August Nights Kick-off Party, noon to 6 pm

DIY Beer Brewing Workshop, Great Basin, 240 Court Street, 1-2 pm

You can make your own beer and the Great Basin Brewery will show you how. Their free workshop on brewing your own is from 1-2 p.m. at 240 Court Street today and it’s free.

Greater Reno Stamp and Cover Show at the Bowling Stadium:

If you love stamps you won’t want to miss the big stamp and cover show at the National Bowling Alley this weekend.

Ancient Future Guitar and table Duet at Mathewson Knowledge Center at UNR

Their music is a blend of old traditions and new age music and it’s beautiful!

Concert on the Green at Caughlin Ranch

Billy Slais and the Killer Bees will be playing on the Caughlin Ranch Green from 6-8 p.m.
