Mayberry Drive Reconstruction Moves Forward Without Roundabout

Posted: Updated:
The Regional Transportation Commission says it has scrapped part of a plan involving reconstruction near Mayberry Drive in Reno.

The project is on the corner of Hunter Lake and Mayberry Drives in west Reno where three streets connect at one traffic signal.

RTC says it has decided to move forward without the planned roundabout after hearing feedback from the community. But, it still plans to install a new traffic signal.

In addition to a new traffic signal, the current scope of the project involves reconstruction of Mayberry Drive from Hunter Lake Drive to California Avenue. The project would result in smoother pavement and new crosswalk and other street markings. After a design is created, reviewed and approved, reconstruction would not likely begin until 2015.
