Nevada Highway Patrol troopers say one of the motorcycle riders hit by a truck in Sparks on the Fourth of July has died of his injuries.

Troopers say the 2003 black Harley-Davidson motorcycle was headed south on Pyramid Way and crashed into a 1998 white Ford pickup truck, driven by 49-year-old Mark Kesner, headed the opposite direction, that was making a left-hand turn.

Investigators say Kesner stopped at a nearby gas station on Tyler Way and then fled the scene. Troopers later arrested Kesner who was booked into the Washoe County Jail.

Both riders were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but one of those riders, 51-year-old Kenneth Roger Stewart, was taken off life support and died on Sunday. His passenger, 19-year-old Cameron Stewart, suffered minor injuries and was released the same day as the accident.
