Suspects in Veteran Robbery Enter Guilty Pleas

Posted: Updated:
The two men accused of robbing an elderly veteran in Carson City both entered guilty pleas to the Memorial Day weekend crime on Tuesday.

Robert Michael Hernandez and Jordan Randall Burkhart were arraigned Tuesday morning in a Carson City courtroom, and then entered guilty pleas to robbery against a person over the age of 60.

Police say they forced their way into James Sorrentino's home looking for a safe on May 25th, but say Sorrentino doesn't have one. After ransacking the home, police say they fled with a wristwatch, pocketknife and wallet containing $30.
The 100-year-old is a World War II Army Air Corps and Air Force veteran.
