Outstanding WCSD Students Receive Scholarships for College

Five newly-graduated high school seniors from the Washoe County School District (WCSD) have earned scholarships from colleges and universities participating in the National Merit Scholarship program. These students will receive stipends ranging from $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the schools they will attend in the fall.

Here are the names of the WCSD students who will receive scholarships, and the high schools from which they graduated last month:

College-Sponsored National Merit Scholarships-- $500 to $2,000

Madison C. Eckert, Reno High School
Sergio Galvan Rubio, Wooster High School
Tania Luo, Reno High School
Trevor N. Trunnels, Academy of Arts, Careers & Technology (AACT)
