Boat Collision Injures 2 at Donner Lake

Posted: Updated:

First responders were called to Donner Lake Sunday afternoon, after a boat collision left two children with minor injuries.

Truckee police and fire crews responded to the west end of the lake around 12:30 p.m.

Investigators say a jet-ski towing an inner-tube crossed paths with a boat pulling a skier.

Two children, ages 7 and 8, were ejected from the inner-tube into the water.

Both were wearing flotation devices and suffered only minor injuries.

One of the children was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center by Care Flight as a precaution, but is said to be in stable condition.

Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident, but ask any witnesses to give them a call at 530-550-2323.

The Truckee Police Department also encourages the public to always wear safety gear, to help reduce the risk of severe injuries on the water.
