Reno police says some Secret Witness tips helped them locate and arrest two people accused of stealing a vehicle on the Fourth of July in Reno.

Police say the suspect, 28-year-old Michael McNeal, was found Tuesday with his girlfriend inside a business on Vine Street and the two were detained without incident.

Sparks Police helped with the investigation, and say they found two stolen firearms related to the stolen vehicle inside a hotel within their jurisdiction. Officers say the vehicle and other property were also recovered.

Further investigation by Reno Police revealed that McNeal’s girlfriend, 24-year-old Holli Dai Winters, was also allegedly involved in the theft of the vehicle with the firearms.

McNeal was booked into the Washoe County Jail on charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, grand larceny and two counts of an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

Winters was also booked into the Washoe County Jail on charges of burglary, two counts of larceny of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
