Reno police need your help finding a man they say stole a Ford Explorer that contained $8,000 in cash, jewelry and two firearms.

Police say on July 4th around 7:15pm they responded to the 30 block of East 2nd Street to meet with the victim of a stolen vehicle. They say a woman told them she had parked her gold 2004 Ford Explorer on the second floor of a parking garage at 5:10pm, with the vehicle running, keys in the ignition and her dog inside.

She told them that she locked it with a spare key fob which she said she still had.  When she returned around 6:30pm, she discovered it was gone.

Police say she also told them the Explorer contained a safe with $8,000 in cash, $6,000 worth of jewelry and two firearms.

The dog was safely recovered inside the parking garage.

After searching security surveillance, police found a possible suspect. He’s described as a white man in his 20’s, with a muscular build, short brown hair and a half tattooed upper right arm.

He was last seen wearing a white tank top, striped light colored cargo shorts and dark colored tennis shoes.

He was last seen driving the victim’s Explorer with Nevada plates.
