New Housing Being Built by Virginia Lake

Posted: Updated:
A big redevelopment project is scheduled to get underway Monday by Virginia Lake as several apartment buildings are set for demolition.

All of the apartments on East-Shore and Lymberry Drives are set to be demolished, to make room for more than 300 brand new apartments and condos.

Silverwing Development says it's the largest redevelopment project in Reno since the economic downturn.

The new neighborhood is called "Edgewater at Virginia Lake"...and is expected to be ready for renters and buyers by next March.

Designers say the new floorplans are based on "Tahoe-style" architecture, with marble counters, tall ceilings and alarm systems.

Contractors will also be making room for a 2,500 square-foot clubhouse, with a gym, spa and business center.
