From the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County:

Members of the community will be able to celebrate Independence Day at Lake Tahoe, while leaving the driving to RTC. The Regional Transportation Commission’s new weekend and holiday service to Sand Harbor will be operating on July 4th.

Passengers can relax on a coach bus departing either from Meadowood Mall or the Summit Mall. The cash fare is $5 each way for adults, and passengers must have the exact amount. The fare covers your admission into the park. Additional information on reduced fares, and the schedule, is at: http://www.rtcwashoe.com/hottopics/documents/SandHarborWkendServ_broch6_27.pdf

Please note the final bus to bring people back to Reno on Independence Day departs Lake Tahoe at 7 p.m. The RTC Sand Harbor service also enables passengers to connect to TART (Tahoe Area Regional Transit), which is operated by Placer County, California.

Other RTC routes will be on a Sunday schedule on Independence Day. Administrative offices and passenger services will be closed. RTC INTERCITY will not be in operation. Route and schedule information is always available by going to: http://www.RTCWashoe.com. During passenger services hours, you can also call: (775) 348-RIDE.

The Sand Harbor weekend and holiday service will continue to operate through September 1st (Labor Day). The service is possible as a result of federal funding.
