Non-Profit to Give Away Thousands of Shoes on Saturday
A nonprofit organization is getting ready to give back to thousands of local children this weekend.
On Saturday, Think Kindness will give out 17,000 pairs of shoes to children in need in our community.
All the shoes have been donated by students at schools across Washoe County.
Think Kindness organizers say they want to teach children the importance of giving to the less fortunate. “The goal is to inspire youth to make a massive difference in the world, literally from the feet up. And so we'd like for everyone to see their act of kindness go full circle,” says Brian Williams.
The shoe giveaway is at the Good Shepherd's Clothes Closet on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at 335 Record Street.
Organizers say children and adults can pick up shoes, no questions asked.
